Default Are Warriors Still Viable?

I haven't played the game for a while and im just wondering are Warriors still good for PvE PVP and Farming? I say this because i made a Warrior before i left and want to know wether to continue using her or move onto Elementalist as this seems what a lot of people have done

TIA Boon

Each profession is going to be different at different things. Warriors aren't the best farmers anymore (as far as popularity and range of use go), but they have some great builds in both PvE and PvP.

Depends what you want to do:

Farming - Assassin
Regular Pve/Pvp - Any class will do, so its not really that important

And if high end PvE like HM etc is your kind of thing, I'd highly recommend a Necromancer OVER an Elementalist, as they were pretty much designed for HM.

Part of the fun, for me anyway, has always been finding how to play each profession to its potential. I prefer frontline characters myself, but it's good to know how the others function as well.

I don't know what games you have, but you've got at least 4 slots. No harm trying out a bit of everything =).

Warriors still work pretty well. I'd say they're more mainstream in PvP than PvE, but they still work there, even if the only truly spectacular build that comes to mind at the moment is FGJ DSlash.

@ maraxusofk - I hope you are joking...

@ Siruis-NZ - Earth Shaker build is very strong as well, with a reward that is proportional to ur ability at positioning urself.

And boon... make whatever class you want tbh. Pugs are no more apart from certain areas. As well as this, assassins are no longer the weak things they were before when you can blow mobs apart with [Critical Agility][Golden Pheonix Strike][Wild Strike][Death Blossom][Moebius Strike]. Its the assassins insta win build.

Warriors however have many options, but for farming are near on obsolete. With the release of HM, almost all farms take place in HM. Warrior armor doesnt cut it as well in HM as NM, and so it doesnt have the survivability it did before. Current farms generally focus on invulnerability through shadow form, prot spirit, spirit bond, or vengeful was kanaai (solo farms that is). Team farms are currently revolving around [Cry of Pain], [Shadow Form] etc.

Warriors in many of the pvp arenas are worthless now. There are so many melee shutdown skills now it's funny. Blinding surge and other blinding skillls can quickly shutdown most warriors and you can have your fun just degening them to death or spiking them. The warrior day is done. Rangers are about the only physical class left with still overpowering skills an advantages to play.

^ that is by far fail of what you just said

hammer warriors are used everywhere in pvp and are by far superior to rangers and dervishes

and if your warrior is getting shut down then your monk or ur rupters or your foul feast[ta / ra] is trash

Nope. Paragons and Dervishes outclass them pretty much.

If you want a tank with good damage - go Dervish. Scythe and enchantments for self survival and PBAoE damage.

If you want a tank that can support himself and his teammates, go P/W and slap on a sword or axe. Spec into Leadership, Tactics/Command/Motivation, and Sword/Axe Mastery.

Of course, I hate warriors because 90% of those I meet are idiotic Wammos with FoW armor and Chaos Gloves that overagro EVERY time.

As far as I know, Warriors in PvE and PvP have many builds. My Main char is actually a Warrior/Ranger and mainly play in PvE, but he fares quite well in PvP too. Being new to the game I havent really had the chance to learn how to 'Farm' yet so i would leave it more experienced players to tell yu tha.

Tanking as a warrior was always a waste. Warriors are still one of the best damage dealers in the game. Contrary to dervishes or paragons they are always welcomed in most groups.

You can use them successfully in both pve and pvp. They do not have many farming possibilities but the ones which they have are still a good source of money.

PvP= nothing slices through people like a good warrior.
PvE= Godmode warrior build still pumps out SY!
Farming= I believe the W/Rt UW build still works, as does Obsidian Tanking.

all in all, warriors are still incredibly viable.

1. Stonefist Insignia
2. High Armor
3. Strength for a extra bit of spike

That are the only reason's I can think off why you would play a warrior. In PvP those three make a warrior still one of the most reliable frontliner's. In PvE? Well less so, Paragon or Sin are more effective but well Warrior works too. It's PvE in the end ...

In PVP, warriors > any melee, thats pretty clear. Especially after warriors endurace buff, they are überpwnage. If u run derv or anything else as caller in HA or GvG you are just bad.
